Mars

Mars is the fourth planet from the sun. It is also the second smallest planet in our solar system.

Facts about Mars
  • - Mars was named after the Roman god of war.
  • - Only 16 out of 36 Mars missions have been successful.
  • - Mars has the biggest mountains in our solar system. The mountains are called Olympus mons it is 21,171 meters in height.
  • - Mars can get up to minus 195 degrees F in winter, and in summer it can get to 70 degrees F. At night the temperature drops to about minus 100 degrees F.
  • - People call mars the red planet because it is red.

Humans and scientists have wondered if you can live on Mars if there was water. In fact, there is still water on Mars, but it is frozen ice. They have also wondered if there was ever life on Mars. To date, there is no proof that there was ever life on Mars YET.

How long till humans land on mars people have asked?
The mission would take 440 days to land. Also, three asteroids will be circling Mars for about two months. Some people ask how many robots have landed on Mars. The answer is six rovers.

Although it may take a while to get to mars people will do it in the future.

Snow Leopards

Snow leopards are a big cat. They have a very long tail. Snow Leopards are white, grey and other colors.

Snow Leopards are unique creatures because they are quite rare. There are only 10,000 snow leopards left in the world. They are mainly found in Central North Asia, on tall mountain tops about 3000 to 4500 meters high.

Snow leopards have big tails that are almost as big as there body size which is 118 cm long. Snow leopards' tails are 92 cm long. They use them as a scarf around their body so they can keep themselves warm. Snow leopards also use their tail to keep their cubs entertained. Snow Leopards scientific name is Panthera Unica.

Snow Leopards live in many different country's all around the world. They live in the mountains in the snow. That’s why they are called snow leopards because they live in the snow and they are leopards. Snow leopards eat about anything they can find that is eatable. They also hunt 3 times their size and mostly win!

Snow leopards keep themselves clean by licking their fur all over. Fun fact if you are allergic to cats you aren't allergic to the fur it is the saliva that is on the fur.

From this topic I have found out that snow leopards are unique creatures, they hunt 3 times their size and mostly win and they have very long tails.

The Basement

I crept carefully into the basement and realized there was something down there waiting for me. I sneaked down the creaky stairs trying not to waken the thing that was down there. As I was getting closer, I started hearing the thing waking up. It sounded like a lion roaring. I peeked around the corner and that when I realized it was a... and now I'm going to tell you how I got into this mess.

It all started on a rainy morning when I was having breakfast. I was eating cornflakes as usual. Minding my own business when I heard the doorbell ring ding dong! “I’ll get it” I heard my dad calling from his room. He ran downstairs to get the door. When he opened the door, I saw a tall man holding a big box the box was slightly moving but I didn’t think much of it at the time. All I could hear the man say was “it should stay asleep for a couple minutes”. What was he talking about I wondered? They talked for a while but that was normal for dad because he was a chatty person. When I had finished breakfast, I went upstairs to get ready. While I was getting ready, I started hearing weird noises like someone or something was down there in the basement. I heard dad shutting the basement door why was he down there I wonder.

Once I was ready, I went downstairs to ask dad what was in the box. “dad I have a question” I asked “yes” he answered, “what was in the box”? I said oh well ummm is that the time I better be off dad said spaciously. Well I aint getting any answers out of him I said to myself.

That night I couldn’t sleep. All these thoughts were going through my head like what's in the box, why didn’t he answer my question, what was he doing in the basement. All of these were rushing through my brain. When I was finally about to go to sleep. I started hearing weird noises coming from the basement. They sounded like an animal roaring. For the rest of the night, I lay awake thinking about what was down there.

After hours had passed, I finally decided that I was going to go into the basement to see what makes all the noise. I crept carefully into the basement and realized there was something down there waiting for me. I sneaked down the creaky stairs trying to waken the thing that was down there. As I was getting closer, I started hearing it waking up. It sounded like a lion roaring. I peeked around the corner and that’s when I realized it was a... CUTE PUPPY!

Then I heard someone running down the basement stairs. They flung the door open and it was my dad. “I guess you found your birthday present,” dad said. “it's mine,” I said in a calm and exciting voice.

After we got the puppy out of the basement we set up its bed in my room and fed it some food and that’s the story on how I got my dog.
